About Song-Kul
Song-Kul is a high alpine lake at about 3,000 m surrounded by open pastures. Every summer, shepherd families move up with their herds and set up yurt camps along the shore — it is one of the best places in Kyrgyzstan to experience nomadic life firsthand.

Song-Kul is reached via Kochkor by 4x4 or on horseback, climbing over the Kalmak-Ashuu or Moldo-Ashuu passes onto the plateau.

• Shared taxi to Kochkor from Bishkek, then 4x4 onward
• Horseback approach available from several trailheads
