Forests, walnut groves and the ancient south
The south of Kyrgyzstan is a different country again: the Sary-Chelek Biosphere Reserve's mountain lakes, the world's largest walnut forest at Arslanbob, and the ancient city of Osh with its bazaar and Sulaiman-Too. A green, forested contrast to the high Naryn plateau.
Most travelers fly from Bishkek to Osh (about 1 hour), then continue by car to Arslanbob and Sary-Chelek. Overland travel from Bishkek is also possible via the Osh highway.
